MOMENTS IN MIAMI
God Moments Missions Travel Posted July 10, 2022
But I was barely on the road before I found myself blurting out words that I haven’t used for a while. I found myself going to work with a chip on my shoulder again. I found myself wanting to drink even more than I used to. I found myself wanting to lust after people of the opposite sex who were not my wife. My old self wasn't just coming back; It was coming back with a VENGEANCE.
I hesitate to say that God spoke to me, because that implies an actual voice being heard and that's generally when you begin to lose people. But I could hear Him clear as day saying “You have a choice to make.” I could go back to indulging, when Jesus tells us to deny ourselves and follow Him. I could go back to taking the easy path, when Jesus tells us to take the difficult path toward Him. I could go back to getting all the pleasure I can out of this life, when Jesus tells us to lose our lives in order to find Him instead. I must choose one and fight the other. I must choose for my light to stay lit and make war with anything that threatens to put it out.
No matter where you are in your sanctification, no matter if you’re saved, no matter if you’re straight, gay, bi, married, single, black, white… Jesus tells all of us to “Repent and believe in the gospel.” We must turn from our ways and trust in Him, no matter what’s in the way or what we have to give up. We’re all going to fall in our journey; Lord knows I’ve lost count on the number of times I’ve fallen. So what do you do then?
Repent, trust God, and get back into the fight.
This is the realest stuff I know.
