MOMENTS IN MIAMI

God Moments Missions Travel Posted July 10, 2022

I was never sure if this whole ministry thing was real for me.

It was more or less a concept; an idea that could be real in two-and-a-half years. I figured that nothing else was really working out in my life, and it seemed like COVID-19 was going to end civilization as we knew it... so why not go for it?

If nothing else, I can say The Christian Missionary and Alliance LEAD program is good stuff. I gained a lot of Biblical insight and have been able to apply it in quite a few situations. I rediscovered my old gifts and passions along the way as well. But compared to the rest of my cohorts – at least before this trip – my light wasn't coming on. Everyone I know has taken their next steps toward ordination and licensing. One of them already runs a congregation and holds a position within the C&MA headquarters in Columbus. Meanwhile, as of the time of this writing, I've been working tirelessly at a warehouse and barely have the energy to crawl right back into bed afterwards. Before the mission trip to Miami, I was starting to accept that my best days were probably behind me and that I wasn't supposed to be all that important after all.

This trip proved me wrong.
